A festival of street food is coming to Liverpool Shopping Park.
From Friday 26th to Sunday 28th April, shoppers can choose from an array of visiting street food vendors serving up a global fiesta of food.
Greek street food from Gyros, Afro-British halal burgers and loaded fries from Bon, sushi from Nashi Sushi and Dutch style fish and chips from The Dutch Fishmen will be on the menu, as well as Afro-Caribbean BBQ fusion from Sawa BBQ.
Karen Wild, General Manager of Liverpool Shopping Park said: “We already have a great food offer with Chiquito, Frankie & Benny’s, Greggs, Subway and Costa but we wanted to bring something fresh and new to our shoppers and to whet their appetite for the types of cuisine and food operators we hope to see in phase two of the park.”
The street food vendors will be located at the foot of Liverpool Shopping Park’s signature 30ft Liver Bird sculpture.

Liverpool Shopping Park’s visitor count hit 135,158 in January 2019 – a 50,439 increase on January 2018. The latest figures also show that the average dwell time at Liverpool Shopping Park is 98 minutes and has been increasing steadily month on month since Spring last year.
News of Liverpool Shopping Park’s strong performance comes as The Derwent Group prepares to start construction work for phase two, which will deliver in excess of 145,000 sq ft of additional retail and leisure space at the Edge Lane site.
The Derwent Group is investing £30m in this next phase, which will include a leisure block comprising a six-screen cinema, a new state of the art Hollywood Bowl, as well as a gym and five restaurant units on the ground floor. A separate building will accommodate a 60,000 sq ft anchor retail store and a further 16 smaller retail units.

LIVERPOOL SHOPPING PARK’S £30M SECOND PHASE SECURES PLANNING APPROVAL
Liverpool City Council’s planners have today approved plans for the leisure-led second phase of Liverpool Shopping Park on Edge Lane, which is expected to create up to 885 new jobs.
The second phase will see a further £30m invested into Liverpool Shopping Park by its owners, The Derwent Group, and will deliver in excess of 145,000 sq ft of additional retail and leisure space.
The scheme will include a leisure block comprising a six-screen cinema, a new state of the art Hollywood Bowl, as well as a gym and five restaurant units on the ground floor. A separate building will accommodate a 60,000 sq ft anchor retail store and a further 16 smaller retail units.
This new phase will bring Liverpool Shopping Park’s total retail offer to in excess of 300,000 sq ft and will add new high street brands to the park, which includes Next, M&S Food Hall, River Island, H&M , TK Maxx and Smyths Toys.

Planning approval puts Liverpool Shopping Park one step closer to becoming one of the largest shopping parks in the UK once complete and work will start on site in Summer 2019. Two days of Christmas extravaganza fun will take place at Liverpool Shopping Park this weekend (Friday 7th and Saturday 8th December 2018).
The festivities begin on Friday 7th December with performances from four local primary school choirs as part of a fundraising concert for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Performances will start at 9am with Kensington Primary School and local school children will be collecting donations.
The Radio City Breakfast Show team will make their Liverpool Shopping Park debut on Friday as they broadcast live and encourage shoppers to donate a gift to the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Appeal. The Mission Christmas appeal aims to ensure every local child receives a present this Christmas and shoppers can drop off their donations at several of Liverpool Shopping Park’s stores. Breakfast Show presenters Dave and Leanne will be outside M&S Food Hall from 5am to 2pm.
On Saturday 8th December, fundraising fun will continue with the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation as their festive elves hand-out mince pies, donated by Greggs, for a small donation. Father Christmas will also make a visit and 500 free Christmas stockings, full of treats from the park’s retailers, will be given away to shoppers. Shoppers will also be invited to take part in a ‘Name the Bear’ competition for a chance to take a £200 teddy bear home.

The Derwent Group has appointed Savills Manchester-based team to manage its half-billion pound commercial property investment portfolio.
The move is part of the Group’s plan to increase its focus on long term strategic asset management. Derwent staff impacted by the decision will transfer to Savills, with the contract due to commence on 1st December 2018.

Although the contract does not officially begin until 1st December, we are already working closely with Savills, as one team, to develop and enhance the delivery of our property and facilities management services across the portfolio.”
